Excited Puppy – Thursday 18th April 2019

Excited puppy

Wilma is one excited puppy. Oh I know she’s nearly four years old, but she really is the puppy of the family. She can’t wait to see our Master this afternoon and has been promised a woodland walk with our humans all to herself tomorrow afternoon. Shadow is in a foul mood. She wants to go too, but is having to face the fact that at ten years old she is not as nimble as she used to be. She has been promised walks of her own, but they won’t involve going miles along river banks and through woods. She says she rather likes the walk they have in mind doing and she used to be able to do it, so she’s feeling old. I said ‘Join the club,’ but she wasn’t in the mood to care what I thought.

Doing my exercises

I’ve been doing my exercises like the good boy I am. I can’t say I’m keen and to be honest one of them runs of the risk of my falling over if I don’t concentrate on which leg is which. It seems that my left knee isn’t really doing its thing, so I compensate by using my right leg. I’ve I pick my right leg up at the wrong time then things go horribly wrong, never mind doing the Hokey Cokey, I think that may now be beyond me.

Summer is here

Of course you’ve probably realised summer is finally here, at least for a day or two. Our Mistress hasn’t quite reached trusting the weather enough to put her shorts on, but she’s not far off. Fashion really isn’t her thing, unless shorts and walking boots become trendy, but it keeps her happy so who am I to complain. I’m just looking forward to her putting a bed outside in the sunshine for me as I think that might do me good. Getting some warmth into these joints would have to be a good thing.

Have a great Thursday

  1. A note to Wilma, I went for a walk in the woods yesterday with my Mum. I was off lead so made the most of a good run round. As it was hot I looked for some water for a drink. I found the perfect place, no not a Pub, but a huge amount of water in the dis-used canal together with loads of sludge! I had a great wallow and then rolled and rolled. Next I covered myself in dry leaves it was great fun. My Mum was Ok about it but when I got home and had to be washed down Dad was not too happy that he had to get involved with a muddy dog. Anyway it was GREAT while it lasted!!!!! Have a good day everyone. Love Dickens XXXXXXx

    • Oh Dickens, I am SOOOO jealous. Mum would get very cross with me if I did something like that but I would just love to. Perhaps I should come to visit you and we could do it together. That would be huge fun.
      Have fun again today
      Love
      Wilma
