Santa Paws
We saw Santa Paws yesterday. It was so exciting. Of course a quick sniff told me all I needed to know, but it was still just great. It wasn’t like when he came to the doorstep in Switzerland. He was wearing a slightly different outfit yesterday and there was no scary person with him. He’d got a wonderful bell that looked awfully like the Swiss cow bells. I wanted to ask him about that, but I didn’t get chance. He was very busy asking everyone what they wanted for Christmas. I said I want Alfie’s eyesight to be all right, as it seems to be causing him some big problems all of a sudden. I don’t know what the others asked for, but I do hope he can arrange my request as I’m really worried about him.
Guide Dog
Mum says if Alfie’s sight goes then I will have to be his guide dog. Of course, I’d be honoured to do that, but when I travel with Mum I won’t be there to look after him. I’d be really torn as I love Alfie very much and would want to do my best for him, but I couldn’t bear not to travel with Mum. Perhaps Shadow could learn to look after him too and then she could be a guide dog for the times I’m away and I could do it all the rest of the time. Maybe he’ll be all right and it was just a blip but he tripped over the base of the dog gate which he has never done before and didn’t see a door had been opened for him to go through. Maybe it’s just his dementia and not his sight. We will have to wait to find out.
Grandparents
Today is a grandparents’ day – Mum and Dad are having lunch with them. I shall sit and wait patiently. Mum is then taking me for a walk around a place she used to go many many years ago. I know I’ll be expected to say ‘oh that’s nice’ in all the right places. The problem is, I don’t always know what those places are.
Have a great Christmas eve
Love
Wilma
