Grandpa’s birthday – Saturday 17th November 2018

For the record - I found some sunshine!

Grandpa’s birthday

It’s Grandpa’s birthday. Happy birthday Grandpa. If you thought Alfie was old the other day, he’s not as old as our human maternal Grandpa. Today he is 93 years old. He’s wonderful and we all love him very much… except Wilma whose scared of his hearing aid! I really wish I could go to see him today. I’ve been told I have to look after Alfie for the day while our Mistress and the girls go to see Grandpa. Wilma offered to stay here so I could go. However our Mistress said it was much easier for her taking Wilma so we weren’t given the choice.

The memory of an Entlebucher

The whole hearing aid thing was very unfortunate. When Wilma was a puppy and met Grandpa for the first time, his hearing aid let out a very loud high pitched noise which she didn’t like. Unfortunately, she has associated it with Grandpa instead of with his hearing aid and it really doesn’t matter what any of the rest of us say to her, she won’t change her view. Our Mistress is waiting to see if the same is true after Wilma stuck her nose into an electric fence at the Ballenberg museum. In that instance although our Mistress has tried explaining to Wilma that the fence was the problem, she’s sure Wilma thinks it was the animals in the pen behind it that Wilma was trying to say hello to. And she’s supposed to be the brightest of the family!

Earplugs

Anyway, for my part I’m going to need earplugs for the day as if it’s anything like yesterday Alfie will just bark his way through it. I’ve got no idea why he’s barking. He’s got no idea why he’s barking. Sadly, he was having one of those days where logic wasn’t going to be the answer. I’d rather be going to see Grandpa!

Lots of love
