Friday flashback
It’s me again with a Friday Flashback. Honestly you have to despair of humans. This did make me laugh from when Alfie was nearly three years old in 2008
Winter clothes
At the moment there seems to be no limit to my smugness. Concluding that the weather is now unlikely to improve, my Mistress said that to give herself a little more space she would pack away her summer clothes in a suitcase and make room for her winter clothes. On the face of it this seems quite reasonable, even to a dog. Unfortunately life is never quite as simple as you’d like. She began to think about where her winter clothes were. Then all of a sudden she remembered. At the point she was packing all her winter clothes away they were just putting the furniture from our old house into storage, because we are short of space where we are now. My Mistress in one of her ‘brighter’ moments, thought it would be a good idea to put her winter clothes into storage with them. After all, the plan was to have it all redelivered to the new house this month.
The logic is basically sound, had they not changed their mind about which house they were buying and decided to do an extension before moving in. It means that everything won’t come out of store until after the extension, including my Mistress’s winter clothes. She now estimates she will next see them in time for next summer! So this winter, whilst I have the benefit of a fur coat, my Mistress will be sporting short sleeved tee shirts and shorts.
2010
The other one I found almost led to me being impressed until Alfie told me the whole story. This is from 2010 when my Aunt Megan was sitting her Gold Exam in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme. I’ll tell you what happened next after you’ve read what Alfie wrote.
Megan goes for Gold
Megan is sitting her gold award test tonight. She hasn’t gone in the hope of passing and my Mistress doesn’t really think she will either. She is very good at almost all the exercises but there are two that just don’t go right any time that they do them. One is the ‘send to bed’. Megan does it at home every night of her life. All my Mistress has to say is ‘bed’ and off she trots. However when it comes to dog training for reasons that Megan is unable to explain, she hears the word ‘bed’ and immediately thinks ‘play’ and gets all excited. Now I can understand any dog getting excited about the prospect of snuggling down into the corner of a comfy bed, but I would have thought it made sense to get into it before showing your excitement.
As it turns out the whole story was even worse than Alfie feared. Not only did Megan get excited at that point she actually jumped up and bit Mum. At that point she was disqualified. The sad part was that they did that as the very first exercise she it was all over pretty quickly. It made me wonder if I would do any better and I’m going to talk to Mum about whether I should try.
Anyway, that’s all for now
Have a great Friday
Love
Wilma
