That was hot
Well that was hot! It was an ‘early’ walk yesterday, but it just wasn’t early enough. We took dad to show him where my sister took me the other day. We start from my usual walking place that Mum really loves and then instead of going up to see the view on my mountain we go up through the forests to St Jost. From there you can see lots of mountain peaks. Or more to the point, when we went with my sister we could see lots of mountain peaks. When we took Dad, there I was pointing my paw saying ‘The Eiger is over there,’ but all you could see was a misty distance hiding the mountains. He wouldn’t believe it had been clearer when we’d been and said we were making it up. He says it was like when we went to see the Matterhorn and he didn’t see it. We saw it on my early morning walk, but he didn’t believe that either. It serves him right for staying in bed!
In recovery
Anyway, by the time we’d walked down the mountain back to our house Shadow needed quite a long time to recover. Mum had made us stop for lots and lots of drinks along the way. Shadow was fed up as she said she needed to pee more as a result. She wasn’t too thrilled at Mum pouring water over her back too. Overall it was really good, but next time we’d like it to be a little cooler. Mum and Dad went out in the afternoon without us as it was so very warm. We didn’t really mind, the came back in time for our tea which was my main concern.
All packed
Now we’re all packed and ready to go. It’s going to be another hot day but with air conditioning we should be fine. Mum will only stop under the service station canopies, so she’s back to only putting 20 litres of fuel in at a time. I’ve checked that she has remembered our Bonio’s so all is well. We’re all just really sad to say goodbye to Dad. It will only be three weeks until we see him, but we’d rather not have to say goodbye at all.
