There are perks
I’m trying to look on the bright side and there are perks of my current health. Yesterday after swimming our Mistress went to the pet shop and bought me a big bag of beef jerky, a big bag of cheese rolls and a big box of meat rolls. She says I can have as many as I like as long as I don’t make myself ill. As if I’d eat too many!
It all came about following my weekly weigh in. At the moment I’m supposed to be trying to put on about three-quarters of a kilo a week. I managed it last week, but this week, despite all I ate, I only added 50g. Well if this lot of treats doesn’t do it, then nothing will. I don’t have to share them with the others either! How cool is that?
Swimming
Swimming was quite nice. Wilma came to watch. I like having her along. I did get stressed when another dog arrived, but the humans gave me lots of reassurance and made me feel safe until I relaxed a bit. The best bit is at the end though. I just love having my back and hips blow dried with the hair-dryer. I could stand there all day for that. It’s a wonderful feeling on my fur. My Mistress says that by the time I’ve been in the pool and then under the dryer my fur looks more like a cuddly teddy bear than anything else.
I had a potter around the garden whilst it was still sunny and then ate loads of treats as the swimming had meant I worked up an appetite. My Mistress asked me to promise I wouldn’t get her up in the night, but I couldn’t do that. I get her up every night, so last night was not likely to be different.
Anyway, thank you for all the good wishes. I really do appreciate them. I just wish I could be young again.
Love
Alfie
