Meeting My Public
Well I spent yesterday morning meeting my public and I’m going to be doing the same again today. I was quite a favourite with young children. That meant lots of being stroked and patted and the odd sensation of having small fingers poked in my eye. Everyone said how placid I was. Mum said I saved my wild side just for her.
There were lots and lots of people there. Mum said she would not be surprised to hear that visitor numbers were up, as you could barely move. The downside of that, apart from the hastle was that it was quite a long way from our stand to the dog toilets. I told Mum I needed to go and she dutifully interrupted her conversation with people to take me. The problem was we couldn’t get through the crowds. Now there is no way I am going to disgrace myself by going in the wrong place, so I did the only other thing I could think of and started to shout at the top of my voice that there was
a desperate dog trying to get through. It’s interesting how quickly a crowd moves aside from a dog at full volume. It did the trick and I cleared us a way through and then ran dragging Mum along behind me. Oh the relief when we got to the toilets. Next time I need to remember not to leave it quite so late to say I need to go.
My Grandparents
I stayed to meet my public until lunchtime and then headed out to the car for a breath of fresh air. When we arrived in the morning Mum laughed because I went straight into working mode. I knew where I was and I knew what job I had to do. When we got out of the car I was on a mission and she said I could probably have gone and done everything and found the right place without her even needing to come with me. Anyway, when we left we went to see my grandparents briefly and then headed to our hotel for the night. Mum still wasn’t feeling great so we both had a bit of a rest.
And Repeat
Now I’m off to do it all again today. I shared the stand with Sybil yesterday but I think it might just be me this morning. I do enjoy it but it’s very tiring, so I will be glad when I can fall into bed at the end of the day.
