Saturday 16th December 2017 – Dog Christmas Carols

Wilma and I have been busy coming up with our own Dog Christmas Carols. This is my attempt:

Bark the herald puppies sing,
woof at almost everything.
Pee on grass then play a while,
eating plants is more our style.
Joyful all ye puppies munching,
on the roses we’ve been lunching.
If the weather’s not too cold
nap amongst the marigolds.
Bark the herald puppies sing,
woof at almost everything.

Wilma took a different approach:

On the first day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
a large bruise on my left knee.
On the second day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
two half-chewed gloves and a large bruise on my left knee.
On the third day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
three dead hens, two half-chewed gloves and a large bruise on my left knee.
On the fourth day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
four different socks, three dead hens, two half-chewed gloves and a large bruise on my left knee.
On the fifth day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
five left shoes, four different socks, three dead things, two half-chewed gloves…
On the sixth day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
six mice decaying, five left shoes, four different socks, three dead things…
On the seventh day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
seven puddles paddling, six mice decaying, five left shoes, four different socks…
On the eighth day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
eight bins all emptied, seven puddles paddling, six mice decaying, five left shoes…
On the ninth day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
nine stolen biscuits, eight bins all emptied, seven puddles paddling, six mice decaying…
On the tenth day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
ten games of fetching, nine stolen biscuits, eight bins all emptied, seven puddles paddling…
On the eleventh day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
eleven holes a digging, ten games of fetching, nine stolen biscuits, eight bins all emptied…
On the twelfth day of Christmas my puppy gave to me
twelve puppy kisses,
eleven holes a digging
ten games of fetching
nine stolen biscuits
eight bins all emptied
seven puddles paddling
six mice decaying
five left shoes
four different socks
three dead hens
two half-chewed gloves
and the waggiest tail you ever did see.

I can’t finish without sending a message of thanks to Wilma’s Mama – Wilma loves her new duck and says thank you very much.

Have fun

  1. Wilma!

So you got the present! That’s fine, because it also means that your Master has safely arrived home.

We are pleased to hear that you like Duckie Duck Duckens as your new playmate. Please don’t tear him apart – there are more civilised ways to show your love, respect, and joy!

Have a good time with all the dogs and people who seem to love each other dearly.

    • Mum told me off for trying to take Duckie’s wing off. She’s told me I must be as nice to Duckie as I am to Horsie. I’ll try to be good.
      Love
      Wilma
