Hello everyone, it’s Wilma here again. I love Friday as I get to delve back into the archive to find out what I’ve been missing all these years.
This made me laugh from 2008
There is some special attention that I can well do without. In particular the being wrestled to the ground and man handled in order to put nasty drops in my eyes. How would they like it if I did something like that to them? Have you ever seen me take them by the scruff of the neck and force them onto the ground? No. So what makes them think that they’ve got the right to do it to me? If I were to present a fair picture my Mistress didn’t start by wrestling, she asked me very nicely to sit in front of her and then spoke to me soothingly, whilst wielding a massive great eye drop tube in my general direction. I moved at exactly the right moment and she squirted the first lot onto the carpet. The second lot did at least get as far as my blanket, where I had retreated to escape the ordeal. It was only then that she sent for reinforcements and the soothing words became “Come here you little xxxxxx”.
And then this from when Aristotle was a tiny four week old puppy in 2011
Winter has been officially declared. The outside tap has been wrapped in its winter
woollies and the plants have frost proof jackets on. I’m opening a book on the success of the exercise and I’m offering very good odds on the plants still being ok by next spring!
We had an amazing weigh in. Yesterday got out of paw because we tried doing it when the puppies were awake and wriggling. Today we tried a new approach and it worked. If the puppies are asleep they don’t wriggle nearly so much so you get quick accurate readings. Weight gain varied from 60g to a massive 250g! It was Annette who put on the most and little Aristotle the least. Aristotle has yet to break the 2kg mark. He’s still only 1940g.
See today’s video here. You will see them stealing the puppy mat to play with and there is some sound today although nothing like the riot that occurred when they were confined to the whelping box for my Mistress to clean out the rest of the pen. You may not be surprised to hear that once it was clean they came out and pooed everywhere!
Have a happy Friday
Love
Wilma
