Now you see it, now you don’t. It’s funny when something you are so used to seeing every time you go outside the back door is suddenly not there. It’s one way we are just like humans. We do a double take as we realise there is something significant missing. In this case it is the water feature of three barrels that our Master and Mistress have. It sits outside the back door and throughout most of the year there is a waterfall that cascades down the three barrels. When I got up yesterday it was there. When I went out just before elevenses it was missing. It’s not the sort of thing you would think could be taken away without me noticing, but I guess I was asleep and to be fair one of my ears is a bit bunged up. I was relieved to hear it will be coming back. It has been taken away for some repairs to be undertaken.
As for my ear, that hasn’t been taken away for repair, but our Mistress did spend quite some time trying to gently clean it out. She says she will have another go later and if that doesn’t work then I may have to go to see the vet. It wouldn’t be so bad if the wax didn’t get caught in the hairs of my ear. Quite apart from that I’ve always hated my ears being played with as they hurt. Apparently, it’s something to do with the cartilage, that and the fact I’m a wimp! Anyway, I guess I’m going to have to sit quietly and be a good boy while our Mistress tries to help. I should spend more time with Shadow, she’s always been the one who’s best at cleaning ears in our house.
