Saturday 30th July 2016 – You can’t win ’em all

Oh you have to laugh living in this house. Things never quite work out as you would hope. On the good news side, Alfie did stay in bed for an extra half an hour. Our Mistress says she can just about tolerate 5.45am if he could stick to that or later, but he didn’t look convinced.

Then yesterday our Mistress got all excited as the replacement for Horsie arrived. He wasn’t the same as the original Horsie, but he was at least shaped like a horse and our Mistress thought Wilma would like it. As you can see, she presented it to Wilma who was initially delighted. However… she very soon decided it was not up to the standards of her original favourite toy and then did the only think that one-year-olds are really good at, and threw a tantrum. The new Horsie was promptly dismembered and distributed about the office. I’d just like to make clear, that unlike the demise of the original Horsie, which I regret to say I was party to, Wilma did this all on her own and within about half an hour of having been given the toy. Our Mistress now says she will not be receiving any further replacements and it’s her own fault. You can imagine how sad that has made Wilma.

As Wilma’s season still has not started she has taken up the invite to go for Granny’s birthday lunch. To be honest, with how hormonal she is (Wilma not Granny!) I think they may be asking for trouble, but our Mistress has gone armed with chews and treats just in case she needs to keep Wilma quiet. She was going to take Horsie, but the less said about that the better. We’re staying here with our Master having a boys’ day. I told Mum (Shadow) she could be an honorary boy for the day but she glowered at me.

  1. Well, if Wilma is a “teen” now and maybe is having some kind of pms – dog version…
Give her a hug from me!

    • Thank you, Lena. I appreciate that. Sometimes us girls just aren’t understood.
      Have a lovely day.

ps I think that might give me a get out for pulling up the poppies and eating them too.
