Oh it’s proving an odd week. Our Mistress had put our misbehaviour down to a number of things a) she’d been away without us boys b) the weather has suddenly become hot c) I’m not happy about having to sleep downstairs d) I’m not happy reducing my medication … you know the sorts of things. Anyway, there may be another factor. On Wednesday night when she took Wilma to training they went to the park first so she could play with her best friend, Jas. They met a Labrador and were playing chase with his football and having a great time. That was until the Labrador had rather more than romantic ideas about Wilma. Our Mistress got her back on the lead and the owners of the Labrador dragged him away, literally. Wilma’s season is not due if you expect it to be 6 months since the last one, but it’s not uncommon for girls to have irregular seasons until they fall into a pattern. As you know Wilma will be a year old on Monday, so if the first one had been when we would have expected then her second one would be due now. Our Mistress is keeping her eye on things and will check again this morning before deciding if they are going to the show. They went to their ringcraft class last night but our Mistress was keeping a very careful eye on things. It’s so complicated with girls. It would be awful if she does start now as not only will she miss today’s show, but she has her bronze exam in two weeks and she’s been working really hard on everything ready for it. Our Mistress says the worst part of it is how much we are barking this week and she’s really had enough. She said if we don’t stop she’s going to go out and just leave us here, but I don’t think she means it.
