It was all very well Alfie getting upset the other day that Wilma gets all the bones, but she’s not laughing now. She ate pieces that were too big and spent part of yesterday morning being sick. She started at 5am, which did not please our Mistress very much. She’d already had to get up to take both Wilma and Alfie out to the toilet at 4am so all in all by later in the day she was not in the best of moods and was more than a little tired. If nothing else it made me feel better about the fact I hadn’t been offered a bone. To be fair if I was offered one I would still be saying yes, even though I know they made me ill before. It’s one of those dog things. It doesn’t matter that you know it didn’t do you any good you still go back for another helping – a bit like our Mistress and cake!
Wilma and I are actually just a little bit in trouble. There is a bank of grass near the compost bins that is hard to cut. Our Mistress decided it would be a nice place to grow wild flowers. We decided it would be a nice place to corner when playing chase from side to side across the garden. Added to that the nice neat edge of the grass there was just perfect for Wilma to get her teeth into and I’ve quite enjoyed skidding into turns as only boys can. All in all it is no longer a neat border and there is very little hope of any wild flowers growing successfully. It’s just one of those things! A bit like Alfie killing the fruit tree by peeing on it, or me eating the blueberry bush a couple of years ago.
