Thursday 16th June 2016 – One excited dog

Wilma has already told you that it’s our Fun Day on Saturday. I’ve long since said I’d rather not go, as I find being around a lot of other dogs quite stressful. Anyway, my girlfriend, Bella, is coming to it and I really want to see her. Our Mistress has said that what they can do is wait until the other dogs have gone home and then she will take me to spend some time with Bella on my own. Either that or Bella will come here and play in the garden with me. I am so excited. It’s ages since I’ve seen her and with her living so far away and me having gone off travelling I didn’t know if I’d get any more chances to spend time with her. I’ll ask our Mistress to take a photo of us together so I can show you next week.

Wilma is full of excitement today too. She has started at ‘big school’. She started her bronze Kennel Club Good Citizen training course last night and of course she loves it. It runs over eight weeks with the final week being her exam. Shadow did hers some years ago, so she wasn’t quite as enthusiastic about Wilma’s excitement as Wilma would have liked. I didn’t do it, so I was interested to hear how she got on. Being Wilma, she wants our Mistress to practice with her all the time. She’s a bit of a workaholic, Wilma not our Mistress, although the same could be said for her too! She is a very conscientious dog so I think she’ll probably do quite well. Once she settles down a bit and is ready to stop jumping up our Mistress will put her through her Pets as Therapy exam too. There is no point in her doing it too soon and failing because of her puppy enthusiasm.
