This week I’ve been working with Wilma on a banana Kong. To make sure she didn’t have too much of the banana we mixed it with more plain yoghurt and again some of her food, so she has it as part of her meal. She loves the banana. She says she thinks it is even better than the banana.
“Actually, I would love the banana one if Aristotle hadn’t stolen it from me!”
I only had a little bit when you left it.
“I’d only turned my back for a minute when she sneaked up and took it away. You even went in my crate to take it out when I thought I’d hidden it.”
You got to meet Santa, what do you care?
“You promised to let me tell everyone about that.”
Get on with it then.
“I had a really exciting Sunday. I met Santa Claus and one of his reindeer. There were lots of people on the village green too and I wasn’t even a little bit scared. Ok, maybe just a little bit when I had to walk through the big room of people, but our Mistress was there encouraging me and everyone was really friendly. I made loads of new friends and saw Monty’s human again, which was great. Santa had presents for all the children, but I didn’t get anything. I think I was too small for him to see me when
there was a big crowd. Then I came home and our Mistress gave be an extra filled bone as a treat and Aristotle stole it from me.”
I wanted to see Santa too. No one thinks you still want to see Santa when you’re an adult, but I did. I’ve been good. Even our Mistress says I’ve been good this year. She says if I’m really good he’ll come in the night on Christmas Eve and leave me a present for the morning. I’m going to stay awake to watch for him just in case.
