Monday 2nd November 2015 – A good night

Everyone had a good night last night. Our Mistress had almost eight hours sleep and is very happy about it. The pups seem to be doing much better and are now playing frantically. I should probably leave the camera set up so I could video their morning play session as after sleeping as they are crazy puppies then. They now have a plastic bottle, the inner from a kitchen roll and an egg box to play with. They like the egg box best! They cleared their bowls and had seconds. They also have some dry food in a little bowl for the first time, although at this stage they are most likely to play in it and distribute it round the pen.

Today is worming day. We’re just hoping their tummies have settled enough that that won’t aggravate them. It has to be done though, so we’ll wait to see how it goes later. This time our Mistress is going to give it in milk to each of them separately just before they are due their lunchtime feed so that she knows they will be hungry. They can get rid of the taste then by eating their real food.

Shadow's ordeal
Shadow’s ordeal

Shadow is only going in for three meals today and as you will see from the photo it is a big of an ordeal for her when she does go in. She will go in at lunchtime but then miss the afternoon feed. That way she will have plenty of milk for suppertime which will help to make sure they go right through the night. Last night Dixie was offered a little extra bowl of milk too, but after a few mouthfuls she said that she was really all right and didn’t need anymore.

D’Artagnan is now up to 4350g having added 110g. Della is 4160g having added 130g. Duchess is 3775g having added 125g and little Dixie is 3470g having added 130g.
