Dixie had a lovely visit with her humans yesterday and as they don’t live too far away she’s looking forward to more visits over the next few weeks. She and D’Artagnan now have lovely blanket and will start spending time with them from Saturday. Dixie so loves the cow shed that she may get to have the cow shed to herself with her blanket for a while as she’ll really like that.
Today’s biggest news is that this morning Della, entirely of her own choosing, went to pee on the grass. Our Mistress got very excited and managed to capture the moment for you on camera. The other exciting thing was that the pups slept from 10 last night until 4 this morning before asking to be fed. Today our Mistress is going to try them on five meals to see if we can get into a new pattern. We just need to see if they can wait until midday for lunch. Then they will get tea at about 4.30 and their supper at 9pm. If that works our Mistress can get to bed earlier and won’t mind too much getting up at between 2 and 3 to feed them.
Weight gains were all very good. D’Artagnan is now 2965g, an increase of145g on yesterday. Della is 2760g, an increase of 150g. Duchess is 2570g, an increase of 100g and Dixie had a good day adding 125g to reach 2485g. It will be interesting to see how they do with the changes over the next couple of days. From Saturday our Mistress will start mixing puppy food in and gradually reduce the baby food and milk parts. They will be adults before they know it!
