Thank you for all the information on sponge feeding, our mistress is going to be giving that a try tomorrow if necessary, but we think we might have turned a corner. Our Mistress spent a long time with Shadow expressing all the infected milk as best she could. It was packed so hard that a couple of times it squirted right across the whelping box and was quite funny. Anyway, having done that when she put D’Artagnan back after giving Della and Dixie a head start, he headed straight for one of the back teats and said it now tasted ok. Ok enough that he stayed there suckling for quite some time until he rolled off asleep with a full tummy. The same happened with Duchess, which means we have a full set of working teats on one side. There is still work to be done to get Shadow’s left side sorted but between the antibiotics and our Mistress helping we are hoping to have them working by tomorrow if now by later today. We are still persevering with a little bottle feeding to supplement, and will try the sponge method tomorrow when the right type of sponge is delivered. However, this is how things are looking at the moment. Duchess is 550g, D’Artagnan and Dixie are 520g and most importantly Della has turned her weight round and is up to 445g.

What very good news. I am so proud of you all working so hard to give the puppies the best start. Lots of love to you all, Dickens XXXXXXXX
Thank you. I’ll be pleased when things settle down. I’m not getting enough cuddles at the moment. I suppose I shouldn’t complain.
