Despite having an injection to get contractions going at 5.40am, she only had 4 weak contractions over the next 45 minutes which were not nearly enough to get what seems to be her final pup moving. Anyway, Shadow and the pups all went to the vet at 6.20 this morning and Shadow was left to have a caesarean section. The first three pups are safe and well and we are waiting for news of Shadow and the final puppy. Our Mistress came home and slept for half an hour then showered and started cleaning everything up ready for their return. I did my best to help, but mainly she asked if I could keep out of the way.
