Now Ari and I are really fed up. We’re heading off to kennels this morning and will miss a visit from Cinderella this afternoon. I guess it’s worse for Aristotle as it’s his sister, but I like her too. Shadow is excited about everything happening over the next couple of days. She’s supposed to be staying nice and calm but she has her scan this morning, then Cinders visiting this afternoon. Best of all her old human is visiting tomorrow and she hasn’t seen him for ages. When she was a puppy she was James’s dog, but now he doesn’t live at home anymore she doesn’t get to see him. Our Mistress is telling her she has to curb her usual exuberance in the interests of her pregnancy, but you just know she isn’t going to manage that one.
At least I got some time with the blanket that is being sent to Wilma before I go to kennels. I think our Mistress is hoping to send it soon. Maybe she’ll wait until I’m back on Tuesday.
Apparently when I do come home I have an important job to do. Our Mistress has been getting carried away with all the things she can now eat and this whole weekend is planned around food. She has told me that she is going to try to get her increasing weight back under control from Tuesday and I’m supposed to act as her conscience. There is just one small problem with that. Asking the dog that likes to lick out the old ice cream tub and beg for bits of what you are eating to stop you eating any extras is not going to work. It is not in my interests as if she cuts down inevitably I end up cutting down too and I don’t think I need to. Maybe I can negotiate extra dog biscuits to compensate.
