Monday 24th August 2015 – A Dabba-doo time

Me and my little sister Dora

Oh It’s going to be the best birthday ever. I’m not talking about our Mistress’s, although I’m sure she is excited about the news too, I’m talking about mine. I’m not allowed to say too much yet as I know our Mistress is still sorting out all the details, but I’ve given the Orvis catalogue to Shadow altogether as I don’t need it. I’m not having a new bed, I’m having my very own puppy. Finally, after all these years I’m having a little girl puppy of my very own. Oh I know at the age of ten you’d think that wasn’t something I’d want anymore, but I do. I love puppies and I’m sure that she and I will just have the very best time. Our Mistress says I can go with her when she goes to collect her and we can have a few days away together getting to know the puppy before she comes home and meets the others.

You might wonder why I started this with part of a catch phrase from The Flintstones – well that’s because her name is Wilma and our Mistress likes the name so much that she has agreed she will be called that the whole time. Now our Mistress is laughing about the fun she will have with recall using a Fred Flintstone voice to call her across a field!

We’re all really excited. Ari keeps telling everyone that his niece is coming to live here. Wilma’s father is Ari’s half-brother. They have the same dad, obviously. Shadow can’t claim a close relationship but she always knew that would be the case as the whole idea was to have a completely different breeding line. Shadow says it will be perfect when all her puppies have gone and she is feeling a bit low to have a little girl to help look after. It really is the best news ever.
