Shadow says she is feeling short changed. She should now be in her second trimester of pregnancy and by rights feeling a lot better. However she only started suffering from morning sickness last weekend and really isn’t feeling too bright in a morning at all. She can’t face breakfast until lunchtime and whilst she is prepared to go for a walk later in the morning, she can be found first thing lying on the settee in the office being very quiet. She seems to be filling out already too. Our Mistress says she really isn’t expecting these to be the symptoms of a false pregnancy and nor does she think there will only be one puppy. Poor Shadow we hope she starts to feel a little better soon, it’s no fun when she isn’t up to keeping Aristotle in order.
We had home grown carrots and parsnips last night. It’s good to be able to start eating some of the vegetables I’ve helped grow again. The peas didn’t do very well, we only got two servings off those. Our Mistress thinks they didn’t like where she was growing them and is looking to reposition them next year. The funny thing is, that now the three of us have proved we can be trusted not to help ourselves, except to the apples and blueberries, there will be a new puppy to destroy everything if all goes to plan. I suppose she’ll be at the digging stage next summer if she’s anything like Shadow was when she was a pup. Ari and I never really had that phase. Maybe it’s a girl thing. Having said that in financial terms I might be guilty of destroying more plants by peeing on them that Shadow ever dug up. Those days are largely gone. I’m finding cocking my leg so much harder now that I have a little arthritis in my hip. I’m passed all the young bloke trying to prove himself now. There really doesn’t seem much point in trying to make a statement about how high I can pee.
