Ari got very excited yesterday. He received news that one of his half brothers from Switzerland is coming to live over here in November. Obviously, it’s a brother on his father’s side. He’s going to live with some people that his mum went for a walk with the other day. Now he’s fed up that he didn’t get to meet them. Our Mistress said she’s sure when his brother arrives there will be an opportunity.
Shadow has been off her breakfast the last few days. It isn’t that she wants to eat any less overall, but she is happy to wait a few hours before eating. I guess it’s another of those little signs along the way. She’ll be asking for Marmite on toast next. That would involve a shopping trip as our Mistress is one of those ‘hate Marmite’ people.
Our Mistress’s birthday presents have been ordered. She went for the ‘Cow shed’ puppy house in the end rather than the strawberry. This litter of puppies are going to be so spoilt. They will also be the first litter not left traumatised by being weighed in a pillow case as our Mistress has progressed to a rather good set of scales for weighing small animals. It will be no good for me as it stops at 15kg, but the hope is that for small puppies it will be perfect. It will make weighing them all much easier. Not all her presents will benefit the puppies, she is having some things that will be good for the rest of us, such as a new book of ice cream recipes and a soup maker. It’s good that she can’t eat onion as it means she can make soups that we can eat too. After finishing off some of the cheese sauce on Sunday I’m thinking of asking for Stilton and Broccoli as my first request!
