Thursday 13th August 2015 – Birthday List

I have observed two things. Firstly the humans around here seem to produce lists of presents they would like for their birthdays. Secondly they seem to think that birthdays ending with a 0 are extra special and need something out of the ordinary doing for them. Our Mistress is going to be 50 in another two and a half weeks. I hope she doesn’t mind me mentioning it, and seems to have a number of things organised. Grandpa is going to be 90 just a few days after my birthday and already has plans.

You know what I’m leading up to! I’m going to be 10 on November 13th. Just by chance the Orvis pet catalogue arrived in the post yesterday. I took the liberty of going through it and folding down the corners of the pages with things I’d like. I have now passed the catalogue over to our Mistress together with my requests. Essentially there is a memory foam bed that I can have my name on and a cushion designed to go between the front and back seats of the car which will give me more space to comfortably stretch out when we’re travelling. It doesn’t seem too much to ask just two things… however they are not cheap, but you have to pay a good price for quality and of course I’m worth it. I did suggest to our Mistress that I could set up one of those ‘Just Giving’ sites so you could all contribute, but she explained that was for charitable things and it didn’t matter which way up I looked at it I was not a charity. A dog can dream! Now I’m off to plan a party, although it will be fairly small as I only really want friends and family as I find crowds a bit much.

Shadow is doing all the right things at the moment. I mean in terms of hoping she’s pregnant. Her coat is just amazing, so thick and glossy and she is being all cute and gentle. It’s times like this I wish she could be pregnant all the time, but of course that’s not an option, so I just need to make the most of it while it lasts.
