Wednesday 5th August 2015 – Worn Out

I think I must have worn myself out on Monday ‘being difficult’ (her words not mine) as I was really tired and sleepy yesterday. On the bright side I didn’t get told off quite so much and Ari was quieter as a result. Of course that may go to prove our Mistress’s point that if I were not so jumpy around Aristotle then he’d behave better around me. I do hate it when she’s right. I don’t think that is the only factor though. I think we’ve reached the point of Shadow’s season when she is less hormonal and Aristotle is less excitable around her. In reality it’s not so much less hormonal and a different set of hormones. She’s gone all caring on us. Aristotle is having to put up with his ears being washed an inordinate amount. To be honest if she goes on like that he’s not going to have any ears left! He doesn’t seem to mind, which is as well really. He’s also getting away with stealing her big chew every so often and not getting told off, so I guess he feels it’s a small price to pay. I, on the other paw, would never dare to even look at her chew. It’s more than my life’s worth to get into that argument.

We are waiting to hear how things are going with Tosca in Switzerland. We’re all thinking about her and hoping the birth goes well. Our first concern is that she and her pups are fit and healthy, but of course our second hope is that she has a suitable little girl to become Boadicea. Paws are all cross this end.

It was Aristotle’s turn to go swimming yesterday. He moaned like mad, but I think that is just a cover for enjoying it really. Shadow’s boyfriend had his own paddling pool and Shadow has asked if we can have one. Our Mistress says it just hasn’t been hot enough but I think if Shadow keeps asking she may wear our Mistress down.
