Alfie is going to be so cross because I get to tell you all the good bits. Shadow got her progesterone test result from Friday and it had gone up to 2.2ng. Now that is a faster increase than everyone was telling our Mistress to expect and Shadow was telling our Mistress yesterday that she really did think she was ready to mate, even though from the progesterone you would think you would need to wait a couple of days. And so much for her saying she wasn’t going to have sex on a first date! They went to see Max in the afternoon yesterday and they both said Shadow was definitely ready and only played for five or ten minutes before everything started to happen. I find it hard to talk about with it being my own mother, but they had a tie for 12 minutes and everything went well. Shadow was very pleased with herself and wanted to have another go, but our Mistress said she had to wait until today and they are going back again this morning. Our Mistress said she was much happier that things were right than she had been at Christmas and is now cautiously excited that we might find Shadow does become pregnant. Obviously there’s a long way to go yet, but I’ve worked out the puppies if there are any will be born after my birthday, probably around the 26th September.
Once everything was over our Mistress made Shadow have a relaxing afternoon and put her paws up. Mum was a bit fed up as she wanted to stay and play, but she said being pampered was almost as good. I can’t wait to see them and am already starting to look forward to them coming home.
