Wedensday 10th June 205 – I don’t understand global warming

It is almost the middle of summer here. That means our temperatures should be in the range of lows of 9.5 and highs of 18.6. Ok so we live further north in England but even Scotland has an average low of 7.2degrees. Now if I have got this right, warming means getting hotter, so why yesterday morning when my Mistress and I got up was the temperature 3 degrees but feeling like 2 degrees? Now I don’t know whether it had been down any lower than that, but is it any wonder the poor sweet potatoes have turned the roots up and shrivelled? My Mistress did something she would never normally do in June. She put the central heating on to warm the house through. She also contemplated going back to bed, but she resisted that temptation. I’ve checked the forecast and there is one day this week where the temperatures might approach normal, but either it is saving up lots of good days for us to bring us back to the averages or June is not going to meet my expectations. Mind you, I’m not the one planning to do a 17 mile cycle ride on Sunday. As to why they are opting for the longer route I just can’t tell you, it makes no sense to me. There is a village cycle with the option of going either 8 miles or 17. I’m guessing someone is going to be taking quite a long time to do it! It’s times like this I’m actually glad I don’t have a bicycle.

Ari, bless him just went outside and stood in the sunshine. Our Mistress was tempted to join him, but in her case she said that she would put one of the loungers in the sun if she were going to do it and take a blanket with her to help.
