Sunday 31st May 2015 – Good luck, Mum

Today’s the day. Mum (Shadow) is taking part in her first ever dog show. She is being taken into the ring by our Mistress who knows less about dog showing than could be written on the back of a postage stamp. Add to that the fact that Shadow is still limping from her leg injury and has lost her top coat ready for coming into season and you will get a good impression of their chances of winning their class. On the plus side as our Mistress is not taking it too seriously, hopefully Shadow can enjoy herself and when she smiles she really does have a very pretty face. Our Mistress did say to our Master yesterday that she wondered why she was doing it and he replied that he’s been thinking much the same thing, but didn’t like to ask. Every so often she gets these crazy ideas into her head and before you know it… well anything can happen. I’m just grateful that I wasn’t eligible to enter and she didn’t make me look a complete idiot. I just hope that Mum remembers to tuck her ears in when she put’s Basil’s puppy lead on, otherwise it’s going to be very uncomfortable as it’s too small.

Alfie was keen for news when they rang as they went to see his sister Dora yesterday. She had to have a cruciate ligament operation recently but she’s now recovering very well and sent him her love. She lives with a Beagle as well has her daughters. Apparently the Beagle is really cute. She’s quite small but is still the boss. Now my Master is asking if we can have a Beagle as well. Can you imagine adding another to our pack as well as the puppy we hope to have? Anyway, odd as it may sound it was our mistress who vetoed the idea, for the time being anyway!
