Monday 18th May 2015 – The good thing about objectives

The best thing about objectives is that they are just aims. Sometimes they are more aspirational than others. My Mistress was reviewing the ones she set herself for the year and nearly five months in she’s very little closer to achieving any of them. Oh she’s doing ok on the ones she set for her work, but most of the others have not left the starting blocks. I will admit that her German is coming on. She set herself the target of having a vocabulary of 1500 words and so far she’s made it to 1100. You’d think that was good unless you realised that she was at 1000 at the start of the year so has only added 100 of the 500 she needs for the year! Her aim to knit an Aran jumper has not even got as far as the buying a pattern stage, so that is not looking so promising!

I’m sure you will agree in looking at this photo that one of us has got there! My Mistress on the other paw had an argument with the scales yesterday because they didn’t say what she was hoping for. It was a bit like ‘mirror, mirror on the wall…’ but it wasn’t being fair she was asking about. The problem has really come about because she has been trying a new treatment for her allergies and she is being able to eat and drink things she hasn’t had for many years. I can see why that makes it hard to stop eating, but she is going to have to if she’s going to reach her goal! Looking at it positively she is doing well on the writing challenge she set herself. She’s written 7800 words in five days and some of them are in the right order!
