Saturday 9th May 2015 – Alfie is depressed

It’s the election that’s done it. He’s depressed that he’s not in a position to make a greater difference to the lives of dogs. He’s worried that at his age, he won’t be around to see the next general election and that there will be no one to take over leading the Pet Dogs Democratic Party in the future. He doesn’t feel the need to step down as leader now. He says he’s fought a good campaign and it’s pointless to blame him that they haven’t made the inroads they deserve. I said he should be grateful he didn’t live in Scotland. I suspect unless you’re a Highland Terrier, a Bearded Collie or one of the other Scottish born breeds that you wouldn’t stand a chance up there. He’s wondering if not being born in the UK is being held against him, but I said that shouldn’t make any difference at all. He’s lived here most of his life and dedicated his life to serving UK dogs. I’m sure he’ll be fine after he’s had a few days to recover from the hard work of the election campaign.

I don’t think I’m supposed to be telling you this. I think he wanted to tell you when he’s back on Monday, but he and our Mistress have set up a joint newsletter about their writing. They will only send something out to subscribers about once a month, but it will bring people the latest news on what they are working on and their books. If you would like to sign up you can do that where it says ‘Subscribe to our Mailing List’ to the right of this post. I’m sure they’ll let me say a few words now and again. I don’t think they’ll leave me out completely. W
