Friday 24th April 2015 – A Surprising Thought

It dawned on me the other day that as long as all goes well, in November my human Grandpa and I will have a combined age of 100. Our birthdays are within a few days of each other and he will be 90 and I will be 10. I’m wondering if I should be suggesting a combined birthday party to him. Of course if you take my human equivalent I’ll still have a little way to go to catch him up, but hopefully I’ll get there. He really is an amazing Grandpa and we have a wonderful time when we see each other. He does get fed up when I start watching out for my Mistress, if she leaves me there, when he’d rather I was outside gardening with him, but that’s just the way it is. Aristotle won’t even leave the room with our Master at home if our Mistress is around. We do have a tendency to Superglue type bonding with our main human.

Our Mistress has been busy gardening here. The Sweet Potato shoots, slips I think they’re called, arrived this week so our Mistress has been busy following the planting instructions. I’ll give her 10 out of 10 for effort, but her grade for achievement remains to be seen. She needs to get the carrots planted or all the work of building vegetable troughs will have been wasted! Mind you, the parsnips are through so we can look forward to a crop of something if all goes to plan. She has been trying to do a little each day while the weather has been good, but you just know once it starts raining she is not going to want to go outside! Mind you, to be fair, neither do I so we’re pretty well matched all things considered.
