Friday 27th March 2015 – Not what I ordered

It tried to snow here yesterday morning. I was most alarmed. Just as I was banking on some slightly warmer spring weather it catches me by surprise. Our Mistress was looking even less keen on resuming her soil moving exercise. She has to take the barrow quite a long way from where the delivery company left the soil on our neighbour’s land by the road side all the way down and round our house to the bottom of the back garden. It’s a good job that once she gets it onto our drive it’s all downhill from there. If it were uphill I could imagine her reminding us of our carting origins and that sounds like hard work. Shadow looked very sad when I said that to her. She said she was looking forward to having her own little cart as a retirement present when she stops having puppies and now with her back problem that may not be a good idea. We’re still waiting for the result of the MRI scan maybe it won’t be as bad as she fears. I do hope for her sake it isn’t as she hates not being able to bounce everywhere.

Thanks to Emma and Buddy my Mistress is helping me turn the ebook of the first year of my diary into a paperback. She’s much better at doing book setting than I am. She’s about half way through and apparently then it will need checking and I need to finish the cover. I can use the same one as the ebook, but a paperback has a back to it as well. I said maybe we could find a nice picture of all of us to go on the back, but she says she’s only got ones of her with two out of the three of us. Maybe it’s time to put that right.
