Saturday 21st March 2015 – Aristotle here again

I spent much of yesterday worrying how Mum was getting on with her MRI scan. Our Mistress left a bit early so she would have time to stop and watch the eclipse on the way. She ended up stopping in a Pets At Home car park and watching it with some of their staff. When I say ‘watching it’ they were more optimistically watching the clouds, she got two brief glimpses or so she said!

Shadow doesn’t need an operation on her leg at the moment. It appears it is not her cruciate ligament. We have to wait now for the result of the MRI scan to find out what the problem is and what treatment will be required. It was a long day for her and our Mistress ended up having to go to collect her in the worst of Friday rush hour, which neither of them were happy with. So we all had a quiet evening in the end and an early night.

The most exciting event of the day was the delivery of a bag of soil. It’s a very big bag and the man couldn’t get it onto the drive so it’s just round the corner at next door’s house. You will be pleased to know my Mistress had asked permission first, but it now means she needs to spend today moving it. Before she moves it she really needs to build the vegetable troughs and that’s where we come in. She is saying she’s going to empty the compost container in the garden to form the first layer of each trough. That’s fantastic news. She’s bound to drop some, so even if we aren’t actually allowed out to help there should be some suitable unpleasant rotted material for me to nibble on later. Watch out friends at the Fun Day, I shall be turbo charged on Sunday when it comes to running. Shadow would manage rocket powered, but she won’t be allowed to run so she’ll just have to sit in the car with wind. It’s not going to be pleasant for the humans!
