Somehow it does not seem fair. Mum (Shadow) is disappointed but it’s Alfie that gets to go to see his girlfriend and meet her new baby sister. The baby sister in this instance is human, but it still doesn’t seem fair that he goes and not Mum. Having said that, our Mistress doesn’t think that Alfie’s girlfriend, Bella, and Mum would get on very well. They are both very strong characters and might just clash. Our Mistress said she’s taken some photos but Alfie will get to bring those to you tomorrow when he gets home. He nearly didn’t go at all. When we got up yesterday morning there was a layer of thin slushy snow and Alfie said he’d rather not go out. In the end our Mistress had to threaten to go without him and of course he didn’t want that. He was glad he did go and was very happy to see Bella and he was spoilt rotten while he was there.
We were looking forward to playing in the snow, but it didn’t really hang around. At this rate I’m never going to get chance to build a snow-dog this year. I was planning to make him look a bit like me, but how could snow be that handsome? I just spent the day kicking my paws and wondering how long there was left until our Mistress came back. I know I shouldn’t wish my life away, but I do hate it when she’s not here. Shadow wasn’t very sympathetic towards me when I kept whining, but then that’s mothers for you. As long as she knows where the next meal is coming from she is happy with whoever is around for company. Anyway shouldn’t be more than 12 hours now.
