Thursday 25th December 2014 – Not ready yet

I’ll get onto Santa in a minute, but Shadow got the result of her progesterone test yesterday and it was still very low. She has always mated on much the same days of her season in previous years, but it seems that this time she wants to be different! There have been times it’s been another 6 days before she is ready! That would not be good news. My Mistress isn’t worried. She is going to try to take her on Friday and see what happens. She thinks if it is not that day it will be the next, but we will have to wait to see.

Granny emailed me to tell me that the International Space Station would be passing over us yesterday at 5.22pm. I took Ari outside so he could see it and told him it was Santa. I was tempted to tell him that it wasn’t stopping because he hadn’t been a good boy, but I resisted the temptation. I told him it had to stop out of sight so that all the children and puppies didn’t scare the reindeer. He was happy and went to bed an excited puppy. Of course Santa came. We woke up to the excitement of a packet of duck strips and to be honest anything else was just a bonus. I have heard that there will be an extra present for us when my Mistress comes home. She’s managed to get my vanilla and malt biscuits and has also bought us a new toy that she thinks will keep Aristotle amused for hours – and that is my present. When he is occupied I get some peace and quiet and what more could I ask for?
