Monday 1st December 2014 – All over for another year

Well the pantomime is all over for another year. The mouse didn’t make a final appearance and wasn’t there to take a bow. To be honest it seems a shame after all the interest it caused, but hopefully it has moved out and found somewhere to live where there will be less disruption. As there were some spare feathers from the hat repairs, my Mistress has put them in a pile in our loft so that our mice might be tempted to come and take them for nesting. It will be a way to find out where exactly they are nesting at the moment. There hasn’t actually been any sign of them in the last week, so my Mistress isn’t sure whether ours might have moved out too.

Thankfully Shadow got through the pantomime without her season starting, so we really are now into a waiting game to see when it will be. My Mistress has money on it being around two weeks’ time, but I think she will hold on until after Christmas just to keep the suspense going. At least there is time to plan things in a more leisurely fashion. I think the main focus now is to get Christmas all sorted and make sure my Mistress’s work is up to date. As long as I don’t have to go Christmas shopping I don’t mind! Having said that, I was wondering whether now I’m a little older I might be suited to playing the role of Father Christmas in a grotto somewhere. I thought Ari would make an excellent supporting elf. I’m sure children would love to come and sit with me and tell me what they wanted for Christmas. Sitting on my knee would be a little harder, but I’m sure we could get round that with a little thought.
