At the moment then words that would sum up my world are grey and mud. It was most distressing yesterday when it had been grey, murky and damp all day, to have my grandparents say it had been sunny and bright for the first 50 miles of their journey. Here it is just miserable. Then there is the mud! It is not uncommon where we park for our walks for my Mistress to have to use 4-wheel drive to get out of the ruts. Her car is one great mud bath both inside and out. It has been pointed out that the inside is largely our fault and that at the weekend we might like to spend a bit of time helping to clean it out. Of course we might prefer to spend a bit of time snoozing, but it didn’t go down so well when I said that. I demonstrated that not all the paw prints in the car are mine, although I did have to concede that the ones on the back seat are all mine as the other two have crates in the boot. I suggested it was a personalised touch and our Mistress might want to keep it like that, but she didn’t seem keen. With my grandparents here we had the central heating on yesterday, so there was no log fire to come back to after the walk. I missed it, but my Mistress said it was nice to have a day off having to remember to put another log on every hour.
I’d gone to bed before she came in from the pantomime last night so I’m going to have to wait until this morning before I find out how it went. Granny and Grandpa are going to watch it tonight so I couldn’t ask them either. I do think it’s unfair that I’m not allowed to go and watch. I could pretend to be Granny’s assistance dog and would be very well behaved.
