Now I know you never thought you’d hear me say this, but I was glad it was my turn to go swimming yesterday. I have concluded that all over wetness in a warm pool is definitely preferable to being made to go for a walk in the rain and cold. Yesterday was positively miserable, the only one of us whose spirits were not dampened yesterday was Shadow and, to be honest, I don’t think anything much could stop her bouncing at the moment. I know my Mistress wanted her in peak condition before she goes off to mate, but there are limits. She’s like a spring lamb on speed.
My getting up early antics were spoiled yesterday by my Mistress inviting me to get into bed with her. I couldn’t resist and it kept me comfortable for another twenty minutes before I got out and said that I really did think I needed to go out. It was 6.35 by that point so my Mistress didn’t get quite so cross with me. Maybe I’ll get the hang of this clock change in time for it going back the other way. Looking on the bright side that would mean she could stay in bed until 8am then! It’s funny, on the lighter mornings she doesn’t mind so much getting up early, so I don’t suppose it will help.
This weekend it is Discover Dogs in London. We do hope all the people who won tickets with us will have a wonderful time and don’t forget to send us back your photos, especially if you have your picture taken with any of our friends and family at the Entlebucher Mountain Dog stand. It’s a shame we aren’t going, but it’s a long way and it is hard to do everything. Good luck to all my Entlebucher friends who will be ‘manning’ the stall.

Hi Alfie, I had a brilliant day at Discover Dogs. I have never had so many people making a fuss of me in one day. I had lots of photos taken too. So many of the visitors to our stand had not heard of our breed. I soon put them in the picture. Pleased to hear you are enjoying your swimming. I had a great day this week and went to the beach. It was very wet and windy but I found some dogs to play and run with.
Hope we will meet up again soon. Love to all your family, Dickens X
That’s great to hear, Dickens. Well done. See you soon, Alfie x
