Thursday 30th October 2014 – Odd Weather

Just as you start getting all depressed about dark nights and miserable cold weather it all brightens up again. Yesterday was the sort of day you just wanted to be outside walking all day, scuffing your paws through the leaves and sniffing the air. I was very jealous of Shadow as she got to go for a much more exciting walk than usual. My Mistress had to go to the dentist and there is a big area of open land with footpaths and cycle paths near there, so she took Shadow with her. It nearly didn’t work out as my Mistress’s mouth was very numb and she was worried she might be drooling and didn’t really want to be seen in public, bit she hadn’t the heart to disappoint Shadow, who proceeded to have a lovely time. It helped cheer Shadow up a bit, she’s losing her coat really badly now and is not looking her best. It is the first sign that her season is well and truly on the way, so my Mistress is starting to go into planning mode for her trip to Switzerland. If you tug at Shadow’s coat it comes out in handfuls. It wouldn’t be so bad if she were not going so grey underneath and so it is all showing through and Shadow says she looks old. She is greying more than I am in places, even though she is three years younger. She has greying eyebrows, which thankfully I don’t.

We also need to say hello and welcome to a new ‘honorary’ Entlebucher. Basil’s human has just had a baby girl called Skye and she is going to be lucky enough to have her life filled with Entlebuchers. To start her off she has her own Ikea cuddly pup and I’m sure Basil will making his new sister very welcome. We’re all looking forward to meeting her. Congratulations to her mum, dad and Basil.
