It was nice to see Shadow and Aristotle and be the one having so much to tell them. Of course, as they have both been to Switzerland there were bits they both already knew about, but I went to lots more places than either of them have been to, so it was really good being the one with exciting news. I told them about the trains and the boat and the mountains and the lakes. It was pleasing to see them a little jealous of me for once. They both wanted to know how Megan is and Ari in particular was very sad that he couldn’t see her too. Shadow was keen to ask our Mistress who her next boyfriend might be, but my Mistress had to explain that they have to ask for permission yet and until that has all happened she will not know for certain. It was fun sticking my tickets from the train and boat into my album of memories so that I can look back in the months to come and remember.
Coming home was also marked by the weather getting colder and more cloudy. It was a shame to leave the sunshine behind. However there had been some exciting developments in the garden and Ari was very quick to want to show me what had been happening. My Mistress had the idea to remove a couple of bushes that she didn’t really like, as well as the dead fruit tree that I had killed by peeing on. Anyway, the garden looks so much bigger without the bushes. It was as though someone had added a big chunk to the corner of the garden. Ari says it’s great as there is more space to run round, but I think my Mistress does have plans for what is going in the place of the bushes.
