The house is a little quiet for two reasons. Most importantly, Shadow is unwell. She may have to go to the vet today, my Mistress is waiting to see how she is. She stopped eating on Sunday. She didn’t want her breakfast or anything later. Her tummy was a little upset but nothing much. Monday she has diarrhoea and then later when she had a big drink she was very sick everywhere. She spent the day curled up looking miserable. She did try a very small amount of food at lunchtime, but not enough to convince my Mistress that she is ok. We’re waiting to see how she is this morning before deciding if she needs to see someone. My Mistress’s biggest concern is that she will be getting dehydrated, which of course is never good. The other reason the house is quiet is that because Shadow is not going out for walks and my Mistress still wants to get a lot of exercise, Aristotle has been going for longer walks and he’s not used to it. He was moaning like anything when I talked to him after he came back. He says he tried to say he’d had enough, but she wasn’t having any of it and made him carry on. He comes home and is very quiet and sleepy for quite a while. I think it’s an improvement but he’s not so convinced. He’s now having a go at me and saying would I mind getting back to wanting to go out every day, but it’s a mugs game as far as I am concerned, particularly now the sun isn’t shining and my Mistress is not so keen to dawdle along the route. I might go out later as she’s thinking of going blackberrying and that is much slower walking and only lasts until she fills the container.
