Friday 1st August 2014 – I’ve been for a jog

It seems moving at faster than a walk may become a more regular habit, if you can call two days a habit. We went to the same place as yesterday, which I have not got bored with yet and when we got to the tarmacked stretch my Mistress broke into a slow jog. She says we’ll try again tomorrow and see if we can get a little further. I didn’t like to point out that today (which was tomorrow when she said it) is swimming day so we won’t actually be going for a walk. She is going later to see Cinders but that won’t involve running as it’s rough ground and I don’t think she’s ready for that. She is discussing with Shadow how her paw is and whether she wants to go or let Ari see Cinders instead.

I’ve been doing a very good job of writing my manifesto. It’s coming along quite well. I’ve got to let my reader panel have a look soon to see what they think. When I say my ‘reader panel’ that is my Mistress, Master and Granny. They help tell me if I have the spellings correct and whether I’ve missed out anything important. I’m just a bit worried that they may see me as too much of an activist and disagree with some of what I’ve written. That’s the thing in politics, it isn’t always possible to be popular. You have to stand up for what you believe in, even in the face of criticism. I’m not one of these wishy-washy politicians who change their mind every five minutes. Although, regrettably I am all too easily bribed with food, but then which dog isn’t? You don’t need brown envelopes stuffed with money when you are dealing with a dog, just a small piece of meat will do it. For a whole steak they will argue black is white and change their political party.
