When Aristotle went for a walk yesterday it was hot and sunny. Half an hour later there were quite a lot of clouds and the temperature had dropped a number of degrees. To be honest it probably suits us better, having a black coat is never easy in the heat. I didn’t really feel like a walk again so we had a bit of a battle of wills over how far I was going. Anyway, I think this time I’m just fed up with going to the airfield when the walk that Ari goes on is so much more interesting. We’re going to that one today and I need to show willing and not complain. It’s all very well asking for a change but when you get the thing you’ve asked for you can’t show unwilling.
My Mistress describes herself as a ‘versatile writer’ she claims she can turn her hand to most things. One of her friends has just put that to the test quite effectively. She was asked to write a speech for a Bar Mitzvah which was to be given by the boy’s younger brother who is 11. It’s hard enough writing something like that so it is relevant to a 13 year old you don’t know very well but to write from the point of view of an 11 year old makes it much more difficult. The 11 year old who has to give the speech said it’s ‘Amazing’ so that’s good enough for my Mistress. For reference she says she is not looking for any other challenges just in case you were thinking of seeing what you could come up with.
She was very pleased with herself yesterday. She climbed up a ladder to tie the wisteria up so that it would grow in the right direction. She doesn’t really do ladders, but getting herself on a plane has led to her thinking that maybe some of the other things she won’t do are just a matter of getting on with it. She did still pale at the sight of the large spider she met on the stairs on the way to bed last night!
