Shadow decided that Thursday, yesterday and today were her prime times to mate this season. She isn’t mating this season, despite her best endeavours to distract me from whatever I was doing. However, all being well she will mate in six months’ time. If her season is in exactly 26 weeks, that means Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the one after will be the days she wants to do the deed. You can see it now, the stud dog owners cooking the turkey while their dog and Shadow get up to mischief in the snow outside. They may of course not eat turkey at Christmas in Switzerland, which would be a big disappointment to my Mistress who would happily eat it all year round. Maybe Shadow could time it not to be 26 weeks so that it is not so complicated. One problem would be booking hotels at short notice for that time of year. Everyone else would be there to celebrate the festive season and my Mistress there to celebrate Shadow’s season.
My Mistress has taken my little car away to Lincoln. It has not rained for a couple of weeks, until now. The very time she goes out in a soft-top car with a leaking roof is the time it decides to rain. She may as well have the roof down, it’s not going to make whole lot of difference. She’s going to need to wear her waterproofs in the car anyway. She’s driven with the roof down in temperatures as low as minus 2 so what’s a little bit of rain? I’m a bit fed up as I didn’t get to go on the trip, but D’Artagnan did. How come a soft toy version of me can go, but I can’t? Ok so he’s smaller and doesn’t take up half the car, but that’s not the point. It’s my car! My name isn’t exactly on the ownership papers but that’s not the point – there is a principle at stake and morally I claim ownership.
