Friday 13th June 2014 – Swallows

After the swallow came in to visit the office the other day we have now found where they are living. It seems that there is a whole colony under next door’s eaves and they have expanded their camp with a nest under our eaves. They are coming and going all the time and are fascinating to watch.

On a sadder note we’ve now had two birds fly into the office window and stun themselves and fail to recover. My Mistress is now trying to work out what it is that they are being attracted to so she can stop it happening on a regular basis.

I’m now having a quiet weekend without Shadow or Aristotle while they have gone off for a friends and family reunion with some of Shadow’s other puppies. Shadow and Ari are not completely sure about the whole travelling thing. Today has involved quite a lot of time in the car and visiting strange places. They had a lovely walk in a park, but Ari really wanted to go to play with all the other dogs that were there. They are meeting lots of different people so I’m not entirely unhappy to be at home, too many strange things are never good for me. Ari wasn’t sure about the man where they were staying, but he was fine as long as the man didn’t come into the house through the door Ari had used. If he came in by any other door then Ari was fine about him, even I can’t work out what goes on in his head and I’m a dog.

  1. I met Ari and Shadow today, Alfie. They’re almost as handsome as you! We went for a nice walk around a lake, but it was very hot. You were probably more comfortable at home in the shade.
