Just in case you thought I was exaggerating the situation of Shadow and her bone yesterday here is a photo of her guarding it against all-comers. This photo has not been posed. Shadow put the bone on the settee with her and proceeded to ward off all alien advances. When she got up in the morning, even before going outside, she rand to check her bone was ok and still where she had been made to leave it. She’s not impressed that she can’t take it to bed but she was happy when she found it unmolested.
It’s been raining again. What is funny, we are all relatively undemanding of walks and, on days that are wet, I for one volunteer not to have a walk. However, since my Mistress has been tracking her steps she is also watching the weather more closely and is getting better at determining when a walk will only involve light rain rather than a complete downpour. She’s not getting it completely right yet, but she is certainly improving and a convert to the BBC weather page. Ari was most unhappy as on his walk yesterday he was made to walk through a huge puddle. He’d just said he’d be happy to turn round and maybe they could go the other way, when my Mistress, who had remembered to put her boots on, simply marched through it leaving him to catch up. Fortunately, unlike Shadow in her day out on Monday, he did not find himself up to his elbows and knees in mud. She apparently looked very funny with four completely brown legs, although no one actually wanted to get to close to her at that point. I think the answer is to buy my Mistress a treadmill so she can do all her steps in the warm and dry with us watching.
