Saturday 24th May 2014 – Swimming

Well you can tell it’s a bank holiday weekend as it’s raining and you could almost go swimming without leaving the garden. So much for last weekend and pictures of dogs using their paddling pools! Anyway, both Ari and I went swimming yesterday. We had our lessons consecutively. He went first and spent his time trying to show off and then I followed and focussed mainly on keeping my head out of the water. I’m getting so much better at cornering and apart from the first couple of lengths, which are always a bit dicey, I now remember not to panic. After the first couple of lengths I always have to stop to cough up all the water I’ve swallowed while panicking on the first lap. Everyone is really pleased with my progress, even me. If I do have to go I really want to make the most of it.

I’ve asked if I can try out my Mistress’s step counter. She is worried that it will throw her figures out for the week. What I couldn’t work out is whether she thinks I do more than she does or if she thinks I’m lazier. I think I probably can guess the answer and I would prefer not to have it spelt out to me. It is just that I have learnt the art of power napping and she hasn’t, although I could be wrong there. It also tracks her sleep and she forgot to turn it off yesterday morning. You would like to think that was not that relevant if she were then moving about, however according to the monitor she was then asleep at her desk for a while. If she didn’t work for herself I would suggest her boss should have words with her.
