Sunday 11th May 2014 – Fame it last

It has taken me years but at last I seem to be famous. Yesterday at the breeding seminar that my Mistress ran one of the ladies said that she was walking her dog and a man recognised her breed and asked if she knew Alfie. Note, he didn’t ask if she knew my Mistress. It was me he knew. Apparently he as the lovely man that took my photo shoot a few years ago and he remembers me. I know it’s only a small thing, but it has made me happy.

For the seminar itself, using a stuffed toy and a glove puppet was perhaps a better solution, despite the laughter and it did mean she could explain things without the additional problem of a non-cooperative dog. It was good to have her home again, although the fact she had the smell of other dogs that she had fussed did not go down well with any of us. Aristotle ran into her full pelt and somehow managed to both bruise and skin her heel. Even he doesn’t know if he did it with a tooth or a claw as he didn’t feel a thing. After the initial excitement of having her home we all fell soundly asleep. It’s funny but worrying about her all day seems to have made all of us tired.

Hopefully this week will be a little quieter than last week and we can get some nice long walks in instead of working, not that I really mind working but a dog likes to move about between naps. It does depend on the rain situation if it carries on as it has been you will find me inside staying warm and dry! I think the front door is stuck again and we’re still waiting for the decorator to come and reseal it.
