Thursday 17th April 2014 – Visitors

We have to be on our best behaviour today. We are doing a meet and greet. It’s a family where one of them has asthma and they need to see what they are like with an Entlebucher before having one of their own. What better to do than see if they are all right with three of us? It’s always good when you know they start from the point of view of already thinking we are pretty cool so we don’t have to set out to make too much of a good impression. You know what it’s like – you have visitors and it’s always the time the ‘children’ decide to show you up by not behaving. I’ve reminded Aristotle he shouldn’t jump on anyone except our Mistress and he is to keep barking to a minimum. Shadow may jump on our Master but no one else. I’m just ready to be adored as usual.

There is a threat of washing the car later on. It’s amazing how dirty my Mistress manages to get it. There is a small possibility that some of the muddy paw prints on the back seat are mine but as we don’t have a database of paw prints in the house I’m hoping to pass them off as somebody else’s. Ari has reminded me that my Mistress has her paw print necklace which is as good as having her own DNA database, except Shadow didn’t give a paw print so I’m going to try to argue that hers are similar to mine. I will be staying well out of the way of all the water that is for sure. I’ve been glad to have a week off swimming because of the bank holiday without spoiling it by finding myself accidentally in soapy water instead.
