Saturday 5th April 2014 – I’m not jealous

Our Mistress has got three of us at home to cuddle, what on earth is she doing going to visit Annie’s puppies for ‘puppy cuddles’? Isn’t enough that she puts us through having Shadow’s puppies around each year and spends eight weeks cuddling them when she could be focussing on us? Oh, she says it is so she can look at their markings and see how they are doing, but I heard her on the phone to Annie’s human and she definitely said she was looking forward to cuddling them. We’ll know a lot more when she comes home and we give her a good sniff. Then we’ll see what she’s got to say about the day. It’s hard to pull the wool over your dog’s eyes!

Our Mistress has got a lot of work on at the moment. You should see her desk. More to the point, you can’t see her desk. She is complaining that we are part of the problem. My response to that was ‘Don’t be silly, how much paperwork do the three of us actually generate?’ However it seems that it is not exactly us in person, but our breed. The number of enquiries for puppies like us has been going up and is now running at around 2 a day. Obviously they don’t all decide to have one or there would need to be a lot more of us to go round, but interest is definitely increasing. That is one of the reasons she is trying to find another one like us to take over breeding when Shadow comes to an end of her litters next year. I think when she goes to Switzerland next week I should have a go at tidying her desk, although I’m not absolutely sure she would appreciate it. She says it’s organised chaos rather than tidy confusion and she knows where everything is.
